Celebrating African unity and heritage through a vibrant showcase of continental diversity, cultural performances, and educational activities.

A Continent United
Our African Union Day celebration brought together students, staff, and special guests to commemorate the founding of the AU and reflect on the theme "Building Resilience in Nutrition on the African Continent." The event highlighted the rich diversity and shared aspirations of African nations.
The day began with a flag-raising ceremony featuring the national anthems of all 55 AU member states, performed by our school choir. Students carried flags representing each country while dressed in traditional attire from different regions of Africa.

Cultural Extravaganza
Students presented dynamic performances representing different African regions:
- West Africa: Highlife music and Adowa dance from Ghana
- East Africa: Taarab music from Tanzania and traditional Maasai dance
- Southern Africa: Mbube dance from South Africa and Marimba music
- North Africa: Raï music from Algeria and belly dancing
- Central Africa: Soukous dance from DR Congo
"AU Day reminds us that despite our diverse cultures and histories, we share common dreams for a prosperous, united Africa. Our students embody this Pan-African spirit."
Educational Activities
Classrooms transformed into "African Nations Pavilions" where students presented research projects on:
- African scientific innovations
- Traditional healing practices
- Indigenous architectural styles
- African literary traditions
- Sustainable agricultural practices
- Renewable energy solutions

African Cuisine Fair
The school cafeteria offered a culinary journey across Africa with dishes like:
- Jollof Rice (West Africa)
- Injera with Wat (East Africa)
- Bobotie (Southern Africa)
- Couscous Royale (North Africa)
- Moambe Chicken (Central Africa)
The celebration concluded with a keynote address from Dr. Kwesi Ankomah, a Pan-African scholar, who emphasized the role of youth in shaping Africa's future. Students then formed a human map of Africa on the school field, symbolizing unity and shared destiny.
